Understanding Your Requirements

The first step in creating a web or multimedia project is to discuss your requirements. The better we understand your needs and the needs of your business, the better we can fulfil them.

For this reason we will normally arrange to visit your offices for an informal chat about your project. We also welcome you to visit us at our offices.

This initial meeting is vital in allowing us understand your goals and objectives, to answer any questions you may have about the process and technologies we use, and to offer suggestions based on our previous experience with similar projects and endeavours.

Depending on the scale of the project, we can subsequently being the planning phase, or proceed straight to the design process.

Determining Your Objectives

It is important to know what you'd like to achieve by having a web presence. In some instances, this will be obvious. In others, budget, time and technological constraints may require you to think carefully about how you prioritise your objectives.

In many instances your priorities and objectives will change over time, and we strive to make your web presence or application as fluid as your business and marketplace.

The Design Process

If you have not previously commissioned a web project before, you may be unfamiliar with the process. Although the stages below may vary depending on the nature and scale of the project in question, they serve as a guide to what you should expect.

Initial Discussion & Planning

Our initial meeting and discussion of the project will cover the basics - what you'd like to create, and what you'd like to achieve with the project.

Quotation, Specification & Brief

Immediately after our initial meeting, we will produce an itemised quotation for the work to be completed, along with an overview of the project requirements and functionality. You may decline the quotation at this stage with no costs incurred.

Brand & Interface Design

Having obtained from you any existing brand materials and an idea of your preferred style & appearance, we will produce an initial draft design for the project. For the majority of cases, our clients are very happy with our initial designs, however you may ask for adjustments and tweaks to be made, or decline the design outright.

Initial Template Construction

Once the design has been agreed, we will construct a sample template page (or a few, depending on project scale) from which the rest of the site will be based. This will be a functional web-page rather than a flat design as before, allowing you to view the design in your own browser.

Complete System Production

From the initially constructed pages, we then proceed to create the remaining pages and systems behind the site. Throughout this stage, we perform testing on the site's systems, and encourage the client to try out selected functionality.

Going Live & Training

Once completed and tested, we host the site on our servers and place the site under your chosen domain. Where required, we provide training to you or your staff in the use of the content management facility, and any other installed systems.
